Team India head coach Ravi Shastri continues to come under fire in thee aftermath of the 1-4 drubbing in England. Now, former Test opener Chetan Chauhan has said Shastri should be sacked before the Australia tour.

"Ravi Shastri should be removed as head coach before the Australia tour. Ravi Shastri is very good cricket commentator and he should be allowed to do so," Chauhan said in a NDTV report.

There is a growing chorus for Shastri’s head from former captains including Sourav Ganguly following losses in South Africa and now England.

"Team India should have performed better. Both the teams were evenly matched. But the Indian team failed to check tail-enders of England," Chauhan added.

"I do not agree. In 1980s, the Indian team was the best travelling team in the world," Chauhan responded to Shastri’s claim that the current Indian team is the best travelling team in the world.
