England have named 32-year-old Michael Carberry in their 13-man T20 Squad to play against Australia in a 2-match series. People outside the UK would be surprised to know that the left-handed Carberry, a black cricketer, had played one Test for England already which was against Bangladesh in 2010 at Chittagong. Carberry has got his chance again following a successful run in the Friends Life T20 tournament.

Meanwhile Stuart Broad returns as England T20 Captain and so does fast bowler Steven Finn. The two T20Is against Australia will be played on the 29th of this month at Southampton and on the 31st at Chester-le-Street.

Commenting on the squad, National Selector Geoff Miller according to the ECB website is quoted to have said: "With only eight international T20 matches until the ICC World T20 next April this NatWest series is an important chance for players to show they are capable of performing well at this level. The two matches will also allow Ashley Giles and Stuart Broad an opportunity to look at a number of different options.

"This squad combines players with plenty of international experience with players who have impressed at domestic level and who deserve an opportunity to test themselves in an international environment against what will no doubt be a strong Australian side."

England T20I Squad: Stuart Broad (Captain), Ravi Bopara, Danny Briggs, Jos Buttler, Michael Carberry, Jade Dernbach, Steven Finn, Alex Hales (Wicket Keeper), Michael Lumb, Eoin Morgan, Boyd Rankin, Joe Root, James Tredwell, Luke Wright
