Dhawan top-scored for India with 98 in the team’s total of 317 for 5 in the first ODI. Virat Kohli, debutant Krunal Pandya and KL Rahul also hit fifties as India put up an impressive batting display. In response, England folded up for 251 despite Jonny Bairstow’s scintillating 94. With the 66-run win, India claimed the crucial 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
