All the 14 teams taking part in the upcoming Champions League Twenty20 2012 in South Africa have announced their squads. Nine players who were associated with two teams have opted to represent the IPL franchises ahead of their domestic sides. It is a big blow for Trinidad and Tobago as they lose three key players - Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine who will instead play for their respective IPL teams.
Although T&T will be considerably weakened by the loss of the three key players, its governing board will be richer by US$150,000 to be paid for each of its three players as compensation from the IPL franchises. However, with Trinidad and Tobago being an independent nation, the sentiment will be that the players have opted for the higher-paying IPL franchises ahead of their country.
Below players were associated with two teams – IPL franchise and their domestic team of their country. All the nine players listed below chose to represent their respective IPL franchise:
