Old rivals England and Australia will come face-to-face in match number 26 of the T20 World Cup 2021 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday. While England vs Australia matches have not produced as many pulsating contests in white-ball cricket as they have done in the Ashes, their encounter in the T20 World Cup 2021 could be a closely contested one.

Both England and Australia are unbeaten in the tournament so far. They have registered two wins out of two. There will be a loser on Saturday, which means one team will move to the top of the points table in Group 1 while the other team will be pushed down to number two. Considering this group has been billed as the group of death, both Australia and England will be keen to all but secure their semis spot with a win in Dubai. The England-Australia clash on Saturday will begin at 7:30 PM IST and 6:00 PM local time.

After beginning the tournament with a sublime win over West Indies, England were dominant against Bangladesh as well. Their spinners bamboozled the top and middle-order, with Liam Livingstone being the surprise weapon. Jason Roy then made an excellent fifty to guide the team to victory in an easy chase. They will of course be keen for Eoin Morgan to strike form before it is too late.

Having defeated South Africa in their first Super 12 encounter, Australia proved too good for Sri Lanka as well. Leg-spinner Adam Zampa struck game-changing blows while Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc also picked up key wickets. When it was Australia’s turn to bat, David Warner found form with a well-compiled fifty while Aaron Finch looked good for his 37. Steve Smith is doing a good anchoring role while Marcus Stoinis has impressed as finisher so far.

England’s Predicted XI: Jason Roy, Jos Buttler (wk), Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, Eoin Morgan (c), Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, Tymal Mills
