Kruger van Wyk, the diminutive New Zealand Wicket Keeper will not be taking the field today on the fourth day’s play of the Second and Final Test at Bangalore. Infact, Kruger van Wyk has been ruled out of further action because of a badly wounded left arm. New Zealand will not be worried too much about it as they have got a specialist Wicket Keeper in the playing XI Kruger van Wykalready in Brendon McCullum who gets back into his old role. BJ Watling, who is an excellent catcher would take McCullum’s place in the slips.

It was during the third day afternoon that Kruger van Wyk was hit twice in two consecutive short pitch deliveries from speedster Umesh Yadav. The first ball hit the back of the head and the second one hit van Wyk on his top hand wrist. Despite the two blows, Kruger van Wyk went onto score a crucial 31 while adding up 51 runs for the 6th wicket with James Franklin.
