Moeen Ali yet again proved to be a thorn in the Indian side, claiming 4 for 71 in the second innings to seal a 60-run victory for India.

On his success, Ali told BBC Sport according to an ICC report that he had developed the sort of patience he lacked before. "India are fantastic players of spin but probably for the first time in my international career I was patient and I knew there was something in the wicket," Moeen said

"You have just got to play the moment and I knew what I needed to do,” the off-spinner who has tormented India added further.

England captain Joe Root was also full of praises for the recalled Ali. “Today was the best I've seen him bowl in an England shirt. That is testament to his strength of character, and the strength of depth we have in the squad," said Root.

"Credit to the group, they were outstanding throughout. The strength of character has always been a massive strength of the team. I couldn't be more proud of the team,” Root added in an ICC report.
