India A had an outstanding first day at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados when they had the hosts West Indies A bowled out for just 252 in the First Unofficial Test. All the main bowlers got amongst the wickets for the visitors.
Bengal medium pacer Shami Ahmed and leggie Rahul Sharma took three wickets each while UP swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up a couple scalps. West Indies A would have been bundled out for a much lower total after slipping to 126 for 7 after being asked to bat first by Chesteshwar Pujara.
It was a 92-run stand for the 8th wicket between Wicket Keeper Devon Thomas (57 from 104 balls with 8 fours) and Skipper Veerasammy Permaul (66 from 94 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes) that gave some shape to the West Indies’ A innings.
