The West Indies team faced an ugly situation off the field two days ahead of their Semi Final clash against Australia. News is that three women, all British Nationals were arrested by the Sri Lankan Police from the hotel rooms of the West Indies’ players.
Chris Gayle has been named as one of the players and it is reported that the three women were ‘guests of the players’. The arrests happened early Wednesday and the three women were later released 
without any charges. Two other players – Andre Russell and Dwayne Smith names have come out apart from Chris Gayle in relation with the incident. The West Indies team is staying in the Cinnamon Grand in Colombo.
The ICC has confirmed the incident but has declined to comment on it though its Corruption wing will have a look into it most probably. For now the matter seems to have been swept under the carpet.
