Bangladesh went 2-0 up in their 5-match ODI Series over West Indies after thrashing the visitors by a record margin of 160 runs. This is the biggest ever victory for the Bangladeshis in terms of runs. Today’s performance was more authentic than their previous best biggest win of 146 runs which came against minnows Scotland.

It was a clinical performance from the Tigers after they were put into bat first by Darren Sammy. Despite suffering early setbacks to be at 21 for 2 in the 7th over, the Tigers bounced back to post a huge total of 292 for 6. Rookie opener Anamul Haque, who is just 19 years, scored his maiden century playing only his 2nd ODI. Haque scored 120 from 145 balls with 13 fours and 2 sixes. Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim starred in a 174-run stand for the 3rd wicket with him while scoring an 87-ball 79 (with 8 fours and a six).

Mominul Haque with 31 (from 29 balls with 2 fours and a six) and Mashrafe Mortaza with 18* (from 6 balls with a four and 2 sixes) provided the fireworks in the final stages of the Bangladeshi innings. For the tourists, seamer Ravi Rampaul claimed 5 for 49 in his 10 overs.

West Indies in the run chase were rocked early at 65 for 4 in 15 overs and following that there was no recovery at all. With none of the batsman even getting a half century, the tourists were bundled out for 132 in 31.1 overs. Spinners Sohag Gazi and Abdur Razzak took three wickets each to trigger the batting collapse. Teenager Anamul Haque picked up the Man of the Match for his maiden century.
