Sri Lanka 5 Senior cricketers to skip Inter Provincial T20 2011

In order to give them the adequate rest before the Test and ODI series against Australia, five senior national cricketers have been excused for skipping the Inter Provincial T20 cricket tournament. The tournament is to get underway from July 21.

However, the five players have agreed to play only a match or two in the competition at their choosing. National captain, TillakaratneDilshan, LasithMalinga, Angelo Matthews, MahelaJayawardane and Kumar Sangakkara are the five players who have been granted leave.

Two matches per day will be played in the preliminary round on 21st, 23rd, 24th, 26th and 27th of July 2011. The first match is scheduled to get underway at 10.30 a.m. and the second game will follow at 2.30 p.m.

The first and second semi finals will be played on July 30 and the final will be worked off at 2.30 p.m. on July 31. Dilshan will lead Sri Lanka in the Test and ODI series against the Aussies next month.
