Final Session, Day 5

India finished the Second and Final Test about 30 minutes after Tea by getting the remaining 22 runs to record a 7-wicket win and thus completing the 2-0 cleansweep over Australia in this Series. Sachin Tendulkar got his 58th Test fifty and he got the winning runs with a paddle sweep for a couple. He remained unbeaten on 53 from 77 balls (with 5 fours and 2 sixes) and Dravid cautiously got to 21 not out from 53 balls.

This was India's first win at Bangalore since 1995! And for Australia, it is their third consecutive Test defeat and the last time they were whitewashed in a Test Series was way back in 1982 by Pakistan! Sachin Tendulkar was the Man of the Match for his 214 and 53*.

Afternoon Session, Day 5

India are just 22 runs away from recording a cleansweep 2-0 Series win over the Aussies! Debutant Pujara continued to impress with his technique and footwork to make things look very easy along with Sachin Tendulkar. Aussies could only get the wickets of Vijay and Pujara all through this afternoon session.

Pujara took India to 146 for 3 before getting foxing by a straighter one from Nathan Hauritz which drifted around middle but held its line to hit the off stump. Pujara had added up 72 runs for the second wicket with Murali Vijay who got out lbw to Watson at the start of this session having scored a promising 37 from 45 balls. It was a leg cutter kind of delivery from Watson which pitched on middle but cut away to hit the back pad of Vijay infront of the off stump.

Pujara after Vijay's exit added 57 runs with Tendulkar for the 3rd wicket. Just before Tea, Sachin Tendulkar slog swept Nathan Hauritz for two consecutive sixes to reduce the target down without a fuss. At Tea, Tendulkar has moved onto 39 from 57 balls and Dravid is on 13 from 31 balls.

Morning Session, Day 5

India are cruising through for an easy victory thanks to an unbeaten 2nd wicket partnership between Murali Vijay and Cheteshwara Pujara! Needing 207 to win, India by lunch have smashed 73 on the board in just 12 overs with the early loss of Virender Sehwag. Debutant Pujara got promoted to no.3 instead of Rahul Dravid and with his technically yet elegant batting released all the pressure on India with his positive strokeplay. Vijay too is playing fluently to get the runs quickly without a fuss.

Vijay has moved onto 29 from 41 balls with 4 fours while Pujara has got 29 as well but in just 25 balls with 4 fours. Australia's lone spinner Nathan Hauritz has been taken for 22 runs in just two overs to put tremendous pressure on Ponting! Runs have been leaking at both the ends for Ponting! Hilfenhaus is the only wicket taker when he had Sehwag edging his rising delivery to the keeper in the 3rd over. Sehwag scored 7 from 6 balls and he even had a life when he was put down at gully by Hussey.

Australia were earlier cleaned up for 223 in 75.2 overs with Zaheer Khan taking two out of the three wickets and Sreesanth claiming one. It took 35 minutes this morning to break the overnight stand of Hauritz and Johnson which added up 32 for the 8th wicket. Johnson misjudged an inswinger from Zaheer to which he offered no shot to get bowled. Hilfenhaus was bowled off the pad by a Sreesanth inswinger and Zaheer finished the innings by forcing Peter George to glove a rising delivery to MS Dhoni. Hauritz remained unbeaten on 21.
