Brett Lee announces retirement from International Cricket!

One of the world’s fastest bowlers in the modern era – Brett Lee has announced his retirement today from International Cricket with immediate effect. The 35-year-old Brett Lee had already retired from Test Cricket a couple of years back and since then was only figuring in ODIs and T20Is for the Aussies.

One of the world’s fastest bowlers in the modern era – Brett Lee has announced his retirement today from International Cricket with immediate effect. The 35-year-old Brett Lee had already retired from Test Cricket a couple of years back and since then was only figuring in ODIs and T20Is for the Aussies.

Although Lee was expected to retire after taking part in the upcoming T20 World Championship in Sri Lanka, his latest calf muscle injury sustained in England seems to have influenced his decision.

Brett LeeBrett Lee has played International Cricket for 13 years ever since making his Test Debut against India in 1999. Lee has played in 76 Tests taking 310 wickets. He also played in 221 ODIs taking 380 wickets at a superb strike rate of 29.4. Lee is the seventh most highest wicket taker till date in ODI Cricket. He is the second highest wicket taker in ODIs for Australia behind Glenn McGrath.

The athletic Lee might have retired from International Cricket but he will continue to take part in the Australian Big Bash League and the Indian Premier League (IPL).
