The West Indies have named uncapped leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo in their 13-man squad for the opening Test against Pakistan, also naming experienced players Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Ramnaresh Sarwan and Marlon Samuels in the squad.

Chanderpaul was not considered for the recent One-Day International series, which Pakistan won 3-2, Sarwan only played the final two matches while Samuels has not played a Test match in April 2008 and has recently returned from a two-year ban for passing on information to bookmakers.

Leg-spinner Bishoo has made an impressive start to his international career, taking 11 wickets in the ODI series and he has jumped above Sulieman Benn and Nikita Miller in the pecking order.

Also returning to the squad is Lendl Simmons, who is likely to bat at the top of the order in the absence of Chris Gayle and Fidel Edwards, who has not played a Test since May 2009 and has suffered with injuries since.

The opening Test in Providence gets underway on 12th May.
