Chanaka Welegedera out of the second Test with injury; Angelo Mathews and Shaminda Eranga come into the squad

Sri Lanka have named a 14-man squad for the Second and Final Test against England to be played from April 3rd at the P Sara Oval in Colombo. Left-arm pacer Chanaka Welegedara has been ruled out of the Test match with a groin injury. All-rounder Angelo Mathews returns back from his calf injury to replace Chamara Silva. The replacement for Welegedera is going to be medium pacer Shaminda Eranga.

Angelo MathewsIt’s learnt that Angelo Mathews will play only as a pure batsmen! So Sri Lanka will have to include either Dhammika Prasad or Shaminda Eranga to replace Welegedera. It would be difficult for Angelo Mathews to come into the side as he faces competition from Dinesh Chandimal. The hosts lead the 2-match Series 1-0 having won the First Test at Galle by 75 runs.
