Zimbabwe Innings

India won the first T20I at Harare by 6 wickets with 30 balls to spare and to lead the 2-T20I Series 1-0. Though the visitors were chasing only a paltry 112 from 20 overs, their innings had quite a few tense moments. The top order got reduced to 48 for 4 to bring Zimbabwe back in the game until the pair of Kohli and Yusuf Pathan got together.

For once Yusuf Pathan came good at this level and with the solidity of Virat Kohli, India coasted home comfortably through their unbroken stand of 64 runs for the fifth wicket. Yusuf struck an unbeaten 37 from 24 balls with 2 fours and three crucial sixes which released whatever pressure that was on India. Virat Kohli was steady at his end with an unbeaten 26 from 21 balls with 3 fours and a six. Yusuf Pathan walked away with the Man of the Match award.

India Innings

India need just 112 runs to win in the first T20I at Harare with the Zimbabwean batsmen putting up a dull show. Just the two sixes and 9 fours were scored by the hosts in a disappointing total of 111 for 9. Justice Chibhabha, coming in at no. 3 scored a promising 40 from 30 balls with 5 fours and a six while left handed Craig Ervine fell short of partners in his 42-ball 30.

Pragyan Ojha and Piyush Chawla stifled the batsmen with their restrictive bowling, both captured two wickets. Vinay Kumar was the most successful bowler taking three wickets while his opening partner Ashok Dinda clean bowled a couple of batsmen. It should be a very easy win for India considering that the pitch has no real help for the seamers and spinners.
