Bangladesh created history by beating New Zealand 4-0 in the 5-ODI Series with one match being abandoned due to rain. On Sunday, they defeated the visitors by a narrow margin of 3 runs defending a small total of 174. Pacer Rubel Hossain captured 4 for 25 in 9.3 overs which included the crucial last wicket of Kyle Mills (33 from 47 balls) on which the match was decided in the end!

Batting first after winning the toss, Bangladesh were bowled out for 174 with Kyle Mills taking three, Andy McKay and Grant Elliott taking two each. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan who would later pick the Man of the Series award was the top scorer with 36.

In reply, the Kiwis were bowled out for 171 in 49.3 overs. The visitors were in tatters at 20 for 5 before Skipper Daniel Vettori (43) and Grant Elliott (59) brought the innings back to a shape. Apart from Man of the Match Rubel Hossain who took four wickets, left armer spinnersAbdur Razzak and Shakib Al Hasan took two wickets each.
