Cricket Australia (CA) is considering a request from the powerful Indian cricket board for an extra warm-up match in Australia for their summer tour later this year.

India's three heavy losses in succession against England have prompted the cash-rich Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to look for measures and prevent such humiliation when they tour Australia in December for four Tests and a triangular series involving Sri Lanka.

CA has confirmed that India have now asked for another match.

'We are currently considering the request,' a CA spokesman was quoted as saying by the Daily Telegraph.

India played just one warm-up match in England and were completely outplayed by England.

India also had just one warm-up match leading into the four-Test Australian tour and having learnt a lesson in England, they are not keen to repeat the mistake. India's only warm-up game was a four-day tie against a CA Chairman's XI at Canberra's Manuka Oval, beginning December 18. The first Test starts in Melbourne on Boxing Day, December 26.

India, however, could end up playing their second warm-up game against a second string side as all of Australia's state and many of its international players will be involved in the expanded Big Bash, which begins December 16. Most of the major venues will also be unavailable.
