Hosts Zimbabwe defeated India comprehensively for the second time to look pretty for a berth in the Final of the Tri-Series. The homeside after a good bowling show needed just 195 to win which was achieved inside 40 overs to pick up a bonus point. Zimbabwe had won the toss and asked India to bat first. The visitors after a decent start of 58 for no loss in 16 overs slipped to 95 for 5 in the 28th over! Towards the end, India managed just 194 for 9 with Ravindra Jadeja helping himself with a 72-ball 51.

Experienced all-rounder Andy Blignaut opening the bowling had miserly figures of 10-1-22-1. The four spinners employed by Chigumbura were all good in stifling the scoring rate. Off Spinner Greg Lamb was the most successful taking three wickets. Zimbabwe won the match by 7 wickets thanks to a resounding opening start of 128 from Hamilton Masakadza (66) and Brendan Taylor (74) who got the Man of the Match award for being the top scorer.
