England won the fourth ODI at Adelaide by 21 runs after restricting Australia to 278 for 7. None of the Aussie batsmen got going in the run chase and when opener Shane Watson fell in the 24th over for a 72-ball 64, the fight was over in the match. In the end, Steven Smith with an unbeaten 46 from 47 balls and Brett Lee with an unbeaten 39 from 32 balls managed to pull down the margin of defeat.

Surprisingly for England, the architects of the victory with the ball were Paul Collingwood who took 1 for 22 in 7 overs and Jonathan Trott who took 2 for 31 in 7 overs! Trott having also scored a century early on got the Man of the Match.

England Innings

On a perfect batting pitch, England slipped from a formidable position of 158 for 2 to 158 for 4 in the 27th over to throw away the advantage. England regained its lost ground thanks to a 66-run stand between Trott (102 from 126 balls with 8 fours) and Morgan (24).
