West Indies vs Sri Lanka, 2nd ODI
West Indies was restricted to 203 in 2nd ODI by tight Sri Lankan bowling led by Lasith Malinga (3/30) and Muttiah Muralitharan (2/42).
Earlier, Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara won toss in 2nd ODI being played at SSC Colombo. Both teams made one change each as Rangana Herath came in for Ajantha Mendis and Shivnaraine Chanderpaul made way for Dwayne Bravo.
Sangakkara’s decision to field was amply supported by his bowlers who exercised complete control from start. West Indies never looked in control as wickets kept falling regularly. Openers Adriane Barath (12) and Chris Gayle (28) fell in quick succession after adding 45 for first wicket.
Darren Bravo (39) added some runs with Ramnaresh Sarwan (21) and Dwayne Bravo (39). Wickets kept tumbling and there were no worthwhile partnerships in the innings. Carlton Baugh (28) provided some semblance to the innings and dragged it to 203.
