Ben Stokes is the Man of the Match for his all-round performance
Cook: It has been a while since we had this feeling, there was a couple of dropped catches at the end which made us wait. We know we can play well, we have not been able to access it well. We are not such a bad side. A 100 and a 6-fer in Tests, a 70 here, Stokes competes every single ball. He has learnt from the experience. Chris Jordan has had a tough start, the first few overs he did not bowl well. Then he came back. 3-2 will sound a lot better than 4-1.
George Bailey: We were outplayed today. I certainly think there was plenty in the wicket. We bowled too many wides. At one stage it seemed as if England would cross 350. Ideally, you would want the same team playing each game. Yeah, Faulkner was bit of rusty. He is learning every game, he is getting used to it. Yes, Ben Stokes has gone from strength to strength. |
