Tom Latham is Man of the Match
Kane Williamson (NZ): A pretty good Test match all round. I think everyone was going to bowl first after looking at the surface. It was damp for a long time. But Bangladesh put us under a lot of pressure. Their bowlers kept us honest for a long period of time. Lot of credit to Tom Latham to get us close to parity. It just came down to the second innings performance. The ball can be hard to pick up here, part of the character of the ground. Main thing was getting those partnerships. When you are chasing a total, you want to be positive. Chasing anything can be tough on Day 5. But chasing 200 or so is very pleasing as a batting unit. You are always looking to get a result, that's why you play the game. To get as close as we did on the first innings was a fantastic effort. Our bowlers have shown their quality. To bounce back after conceding 600 in the first innings was brilliant.
Mushfiqur Rahim (BAN): Much better. Could have been worse. We let ourselves down in the bowling department probably and could not execute our plans. There were couple of soft dismissals also. Really disappointed after putting up a great show in the first innings. There's an inexperience in the bowling department with a couple of guys making their debuts. Need to create pressure from both ends to get them out. Need to work on that. Very happy for him. He didn't get any double hundred previously. Hopefully the guys who missed out will contribute in the next Test.
