ICC comments on The Sunday Time story on match fixing and also the ICC World Cup Semi Final match between India and Pakistan

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has denied that it was going to investigate last year’s World Cup Semi-Final match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan.

The Sunday Times, which broke a sensational story on match fixing, had reported that the ICC was going to look into the Semi-Final Match in which India defeated Pakistan at Mohali. The ICC Chief Executive Mr Haroon Lorgat has dismissed the story in The Sunday Times saying that the ICC was going to investigate the World Cup Semi-Final as baseless and misleading.

Mr. Haroon Lorgat also said "it is indeed sad for spurious claims to be made which only serve to cause doubt on the semi-final of one of the most successful ICC Cricket World Cups ever."
