Despite the absence of Virat Kohli, former India captain Sourav Ganguly feels that India are the favourites to win the Asia Cup 2018. India go into the tournament as defending champions, and will be led by Rohit Sharma in Kohli’s absence.

"India could not do that well in England but in limited overs they are a top side. Team is much stronger with Virat but Rohit has a very good record as captain so I expect him to do well too. They are capable of winning,” Ganguly was quoted as saying in a PTI report.

India have made some changes to the ODI team that featured in England with Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav and Ambati Rayudu making a comeback.

For the record, India have won the Asia Cup most times, with six titles, including the T20 format played in 2016. Their earlier wins came in 1984, 1988, 1990-91, 1995 and 2010.
