News and Scores Update of New Zealand Vs Zimbabwe, Only Test at McLean Park, Napier, The National Bank Series 2012

Hosts New Zealand finished at a strong 331 for 5 on the opening day’s play of their Only Test against Zimbabwe at the McLean Park in Napier. Zimbabwe had won the toss and put the Black Caps in but only to see an opening stand between Martin Guptill (51 from 109 balls with 7 fours) and Brendon McCullum (83 from 158 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes). While these two Kiwi openers missed out on bigger scores, Skipper Ross Taylor registered his 6th Test century. The New Zealand Skipper remained unbeaten on 111 from 168 balls with 13 fours and 2 sixes.

For the Zimbabweans, a couple of players – Shingi Masakadza and Forster Mutizwa made their Test Debuts today.
