Hyderabad pulled off one of the big upsets ofI ndian T20 2019 when they inflicted a six-wicket defeat on Chennai at Hyderabad on Wednesday. Chennai were without skipper MS Dhoni, who missed the game with a back spasm. And, it proved to be a big difference as Chennai looked a completely different team on the day.

Batting first, they were restricted to 132 for 5 despite Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis adding 79 for the opening wicket. Ravindra Jadeja crawled to an unbeaten 10 from 20 balls to throw Chennai's innings off gear. Rashid Khan starred for Hyderabad with 2 for 17 in his four overs.

In response, Hyderabad's chase was again built upon brilliant half-centuries from David Warner and Jonny Bairstow. Although Hyderabad lost their way after the openers' dismissal, they got home easily in the end. Apart from Imran Tahir's 2 for 20, no one really made an impression.

Speaking after the game, Suresh Raina might play the next game. "He is feeling better. His back was stiff and might play the next game," Raina said at the post-match presentation ceremony. Raina also admitted on the defeat, "I think it is a very good wake up call."

Analyzing the defeat, the southpaw said they did put up a decent score on board. "I think we didn't put a decent score on the board and kept losing wickets. We lost too many wickets in between and that's why it cost us the game.

"We should have looked for partnerships and should have rotated our strike better. Hence, we were 30 runs short," Raina said.
