The 30-year-old Yuvraj Singh is suffering from ‘lung seminoma’ a rare condition im medical history but it can be curable with 95% chances of recovery!

India’s match-winning batsman in the limited-over formats of the game and also Man of the Tournament in the ICC World Cup 2011 - Yuvraj Singh is suffering from a rare cancer which goes by the technical name - lung seminoma. A few days ago, it was revealed by Yuvraj’s mother Shabnam Singh that her son was having a golf ball size tumour in his lung, which was a non-malignant one. However, Yuvraj Singh who has gone to the US for treatment has been diagnosed for a rare ‘malignant mediastinal germ cell tumour’ which is also called as ‘lung seminoma’ as in Yuvraj’s case.

While its shocking news to hear that Yuvraj is suffering from the first stage of this cancer or tumour, the good news is that there are high chances of recovering from that state and get back to normalcy in life. Its learnt from reliable news sources that Yuvraj Singh will undergo Chemotherapy for nine weeks. The cause for this health problem for Yuvraj Singh has something to do with the genetic predisposition developed during the fetal phase when he was in his mother’s womb.

Yuvraj SinghNot so long ago, Shabnam Singh, Yuvraj’s mother had also revealed that her son had gone through tough times in the last few months. According to her, Yuvraj was having bouts of coughing and was vomiting all through the World Cup. Yuve somehow managed to not only play the tournament but also carried India to glory with his all-round performance! Yuvraj Singh is the son of Yograj Singh, who has also played for India in one Test and six ODIs and is also an actor in Punjabi films and the father believes that he will make a comeback in Cricket.

Meanwhile the BCCI and also the Indian Sports Ministry have extended their support to Yuvraj Singh. The 30-year-old southpaw will not be seen in action for atleast six months and he has already been ruled out of the upcoming IPL-5. Yuvraj Singh last played for India in the 2nd Test against West Indies in November 2011.
