Punjab batted first in the game, and amassed 215 for 5 wickets. Manan Vohra top scored with 65 from 32 balls, with eight fours and three sixes while opening partner Virender Sehwag chipped in with 52 from 37 balls with five fours and one six. Towards the end of the innings, David Miller blasted an unbeaten 40 from 18 balls. Northern Districts were rolled over for 95 in response. Karanveer Singh claimed 4 for 15 and Akshar Patel 2 for 16.

Hurricanes vs Northern Districts (86 runs): The Hobart Hurricanes got the better of Northern Districts by 86 runs in a group game at Raipur on September 23, 2014. Batting first, the Hurricanes made 178 for 3. Aiden Blizzard slammed 62 from 43 balls with eight sixes. Shoaib Malik made an unbeaten 45 from 22 balls with five fours and two sixes while Tim Paine contributed 43 from 34 deliveries. Northern Districts managed only 92 in response. Ben Hilfenhaus claimed 3 for 14 and Doug Bollinger had figures of 3 for 22. Joe Mennie and Xavier Doherty chipped in with two wickets each.


Northern Districts vs Lahore Lions (72 runs): Northern Districts batted first in the game at Raipur on September 14, 2014. They finished with 170 for 6. Skipper Daniel Flynn and BJ Watling both made 53 each. The skipper’s knock came from 30 balls with five fours and two sixes, and the wicket-keeper faced 37 balls, and hit seven fours and one six. In reply, Lions were all out for 98. Tim Southee was the star of the show for Northern Districts with 3 for 22 while Trent Boult and Ish Sodhi claimed two scalps each.


Mumbai Indians vs Southern Express (9 wickets): This was a qualifying game played at Raipur on September 14, 2014. Southern Express batted first and finished with a competitive 161 for 6. Farveez Maharoof was the top-scorer with an unbeaten 41 from 22 balls with three fours and two sixes. Mumbai chased down the target with ease as their openers blasted the Express bowlers. Lendl Simmons made an unbeaten 76 from 51 balls with 11 fours and 1 six. The other opener Mike Hussey made 60 from 40 balls with five fours and three sixes.


Northern Districts vs Southern Express (7 wickets): This was also a qualifying game played at Raipur on September 13, 2014. In the rain-marred game, Express batted first and managed 92 for 5 in 10 overs. Danushka Gunathilaka top-scored with 39 from 26 balls with two fours and three sixes, and Kushal Perera made 37 from 27 deliveries with seven fours. Chasing the target, Kane Williamson’s dashing 52 from 29 balls with seven fours and one six got them home with three balls remaining.
