The West Indies-Sri Lanka match at Port of Spain moved into the rest day following heavy showers on Sunday. The match will resume on Monday from where it stopped with Sri Lanka at a shaky 60 for 3 in 19 overs on a track that was heavily loaded in favour of the seamers.

The pitch was too difficult for the batsmen to play freely as even the pitched up deliveries seemed to be bouncing at alarming heights. West Indies despite some erratic bowling managed to break the top order of the Lankans.

Upul Tharanga, fresh from his 174 against India, was first to be dismissed for 7, when he drove Jason Holder to an acrobatic Darren Bravo at covers in the 4th over. Mahela Jayawardene was also out for 7, when his top edged pull off Roach flew off his helmet to point in the very next ball after Tharanga’s exit. A couple of overs later, Roach went through the gate of Dinesh Chandimal to leave Sri Lanka at 29 for 3.

Before the rain had the last laugh, Sri Lanka had Kumar Sangakkara on 11* (from 33 balls) along with Lahiru Thirimanne on 13* (from 49 balls), working extremely hard to repair the early damages.

Toss and Teams: West Indies under Kieron Pollard has won the toss and asked Sri Lanka to bat first on a dry pitch at Port of Spain in Trinidad. Dwayne Bravo, the original Skipper is banned from playing this game because of slow over-rate against India.

West Indies have made quite a lot of changes with Devon Smith, Lendl Simmons and Jason Holder coming in for Dwayne Bravo, Denesh Ramdin and the injured Sunil Narine. For Sri Lanka, Jeevan Mendis and Shaminda Eranga come in for Kusal Perera and Rangana Herath.
