Virat Kohli, the Indian captain, admitted that India had nowhere to hide after the drubbing at Lord’s at the hands of England by an innings. He also stated that perhaps they got their combination wrong for the game.

“We are not very proud with the way we played to be honest. First time in last five Tests we've been completely outplayed but when a team plays like that they deserve to be on the winning side. We cannot crib about such things (weather), have to counter the conditions as and when they come to you,” Kohli said.

“We won't sit around and say that we didn't have the best of conditions. Their (England) bowlers were relentless with the ball and kept hitting the right areas. Looking at things now, the weather was so unpredictable and I think we got the combination a bit off before the game,” Kohli went on to add.

Chris Woakes put up a brilliant all-round show while James Anderson and Stuart Broad came up with excellent bowling efforts as England crushed India by an innings and 159 runs
