England has won the toss and elected to field first in its Super Eights Match against Pakistan at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.

England Innings

England won its Super Eights match against Pakistan by 6 wickets with three balls to spare. A well scripted victory for England it was with the bowlers setting up a not-so-big target of 148 to chase down. Kevin Pietersen stayed long enough to seal the deal comfortably with an unbeaten 70 from 52 balls with 7 fours and two sixes. Pakistan could hardly put any pressure on England in the run chase and they deserved to lose the game when Saeed Ajmal put down as many as three catches!!

The openers - Michael Lumb (25 from 13 balls) and Craig Kieswetter (25 from 27 balls) laid a good foundation of nearly 50 on the board inside 6 overs while defying any early inroads for Aamer and Asif. For some reason, the Pakistani pacers didn't get the same spicy response for the pitch and perhaps the English batsmen were at home facing up against the pace and bounce.

Pakistan Innings

England had the Pakistani innings under check for most part taking wickets at regular intervals to put the brakes on the scoring. However, a couple of bad overs in the end has lifted Pakistan to a highly competitive 147 for 9 on what is a venomous pitch for the fast bowlers. Mohammad Aamer will be partnered by a potent partner in Mohammad Asif and the fast bowling duo hold the key for Pakistan's success as they try to defend this total.

The conditions have become slightly overcast with a few black clouds around. There could be a passing shower around. For England to win, there is a need of a couple of good partnerships.

The top scorer of the Pakistan innings was opener Salman Butt who made 34 from 26 balls. Umar Akmal played a crucial knock of 30 from 25 balls. For England, Sidebottom, Broad and Yardy picked up two wickets each.

Toss and Teams

England has won the toss and elected to field first in its Super Eights Match against Pakistan at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. Mohammad Asif returns back for Pakistan to play his first game of the tournament replacing Mohammad Sami. England have remained unchanged. The pitch is expected to be fast and bouncy which should give England a better chance to win because the Pakistani batsmen have not been so good at facing the short pitch stuff.
